About Me

Hello, I’m Jedidiah Chavez, a passionate and dedicated leader with a wealth of experience working within the nonprofit sector. I have worked with organizations large and small in the arts, conservation, human services, education, and social justice. Over nearly 22 years, I’ve built a solid track record of success in scaling organizations and increasing community impact.

I have served in Development Director and Executive Director roles including an 11 year tenure with Ethos, one of Oregon’s largest providers of music education for kids. I have also served as the Director of Community Engagement with Pride Foundation, an LGBTQ+ community foundation dedicated to supporting organizations and student leaders in the Northwest. In this role, I dramatically increased contributed revenue and was a member of the leadership team responsible for securing a transformative $3 million leadership gift from noted philanthropist, MacKenzie Scott.

Beyond my executive roles, I’ve worked as a consultant, offering leadership and support on capital campaign feasibility studies, major gift strategy, and annual campaigns. I’ve also provided interim executive director and development director services, helping organizations navigate transitions and maintain their momentum.

In addition to my professional commitments, I find immense fulfillment in giving back to the community. I’ve volunteered or served as a board member for several nonprofit organizations, including Oregon Arts Commission, PHAME Academy and Portland Q Center.

I am based in Portland, Oregon but work with organizations across the country.
